Meet Kins
I'm a chartered engineer, with a BEng and an MEng, and I spend my days consulting on mission-critical systems — the kind where failure simply isn't an option. I've worked with the likes of Eaton, GE, BT and Apollo across fire and safety, renewable power and industrial engineering, and helped develop products that are on the market today.
So why the toolbox?
I bought an old house and rarely had to worry about it. But friends and family kept calling me round to their brand-new builds — cracks showing up weeks after moving in, carpets that cover the floor but don't protect it, kitchens and balconies in awkward spots, bathrooms that were never sealed properly, sharp cabinet edges in homes full of young children. The same story, home after home: either the builder had missed something, or the buyer had been sold a place that didn't quite fit their life.
It frustrated me that a bit of care and the right eye would have prevented all of it. So I started Harry Handyman — to bring the standard I hold in mission-critical engineering to the homes people actually live in.
